The Wine Australia will bring premium Australian wines to ProWine China 2020 by Wine Australia22/10/2020

More than 40 Australian wine brands gathered at China's premier international wine and spirits trade fair

The annual ProWine China International Wine and Spirits Trade Fair will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from November 10th to 12th. At that time, the Australian Wine Authority will bring 26 exhibitors from 11 Australian producing regions and more than 40 Australian fine wine brands to showcase the extraordinary charm of Australian wines at booths W4A61 and W4C01 in West Hall IV. During the three-day exhibition, the Australian Wine Authority will hold a series of activities such as wine tasting sessions, master classes and wine education courses.

This year (2020) marks Wine Australia’s sixth year participating in ProWine China, a three-day trade show which attracted more than 20,000 importers, distributors, suppliers and media from across China in 2019.

Australian wine took centre stage at ProWine China 2019. The pavilion hosted 61 Australian wine exhibitors and showcased over 100 brands from 25 regions, including a dedicated education space within the pavilion.

In this exhibition, representatives of Australian wineries will fully demonstrate Australia's diverse wine regions, as well as the innovative spirit and creativity of Australian winemakers. Australia is the largest source of imported wine in Mainland China. According to statistics from the Global Trade Atlas, Australian wine imports accounted for 39% of the total mainland market in the 12 months to the end of August 2020. Mr. Andreas Clark, Chief Executive Officer of Wine Australia, said: “I am very pleased to see the strong performance of Australian wine brands in the Chinese market. This has also contributed to the participation of the Australian Wine National Pavilion in this ProWine China. Industry insiders showcased the highly acclaimed winery brands in various regions of Australia and their rich, diverse and excellent quality wines, while sharing the story of Australian wine with everyone."

At the three-day ProWine China exhibition, the Australian Wine Authority’s diversified visitation schedule will further consolidate Australia’s position as the largest source of wine imports in Mainland China. Through wine tasting sessions hosted by the Australian Wine Authority, master classes, "cloud enjoy" live broadcast of Australian wine, and in-depth interaction and exchange activities with wine merchants, industry professionals also have the opportunity to experience the wonderful and mellow Australian wine in depth.
